The Bay Isle is Latham's mid-size freeform pool built to deliver three resort-style features in one shell: a tanning ledge, swim-up bench seating, and multiple entry points around its organic curved perimeter. At 14'6" x 30' with a depth range from a shallow 3 feet to a full 6'6", it covers the full family experience from young kids on the ledge to adults in the deep end. The Bay Isle includes a built-in tanning ledge molded directly into the shell at the shallow end. At approximately 6 to 8 inches of water depth the ledge is where ledge loungers go, where young children play safely, and where adults soak up afternoon sun without fully committing to the pool. On a freeform pool the ledge integrates naturally with the curved organic profile of the shell and reads as part of the pool's design rather than an addition to it.
The ledge is part of the original fiberglass structure from day one. No separate installation, no grout lines, no hardware to replace.
The Bay Isle's depth range is one of the widest of any mid-size freeform in the Latham lineup. Starting at a very shallow 3 feet at the ledge end and graduating to 6 feet 6 inches at the deep end, the pool accommodates every age and comfort level in one shell. The shallow zone is genuinely accessible for young children. The 6'6" deep end is substantial enough that adults can swim properly without touching bottom on every stroke.
That 3.5-foot range from entry to deep end creates a natural gradient that makes the pool feel larger than its footprint suggests, and gives every swimmer their appropriate zone without anyone feeling crowded out.
The Bay Isle includes both built-in swim-up bench seating and multiple entry and exit points positioned around its curved perimeter. On a 14-foot wide freeform pool these two features work together naturally. The bench seating provides a resting and gathering zone at comfortable wading depth. The multiple entry zones mean the pool can be oriented relative to the patio in multiple ways without creating access bottlenecks, and different family members can enter from different sides based on where they are in the yard.
Both features are part of the original shell and require no ongoing maintenance.
A rectangular pool of equivalent gallonage occupies similar square footage but produces a fundamentally different visual result in the yard. The Bay Isle's organic curves soften the geometry of the backyard space, create natural transitions between the pool edge and surrounding landscape, and photograph with a resort quality that straight-edged pools rarely achieve at this size. For a Mid-Ohio Valley homeowner who has seen enough backyard pools to have an opinion about how they want theirs to look, the freeform shape is usually a deliberate aesthetic choice.
