Unlike a standalone spa placed beside a pool, the Astoria 14 spa is part of the fiberglass shell itself. Both units share the same water system, the same filtration, and the same manufacturer warranty. The result is a cleaner installation, lower cost than buying two separate units, and a finished product that looks like it was designed that way, because it was. The Astoria 14 spa is not a separate unit placed next to the pool. It is molded directly into the same fiberglass shell. That means one installation, one plumbing system, one filtration setup, and one warranty covering everything. When you look at it from the yard there is no seam, no gap, no after-thought. It looks exactly like what it is: a pool designed to include a spa from the beginning.
The spa seats multiple people at 3' depth and can be heated independently so you can use it year-round while the main pool is covered for winter. Built-in bench seating is molded into the interior of the Astoria 14, giving everyone a comfortable place to sit partially submerged. On a pool that already includes a spa, the bench seating creates a third zone for people who want to be in the water but not in the spa. This social layering is part of what makes the Astoria 14 work so well for gatherings of any size.
The bench is part of the fiberglass shell. No grout lines, no replacement parts, no maintenance beyond what the pool itself requires.
The Astoria 14 includes a wading area, which is distinct from a tanning ledge. Where a tanning ledge typically sits at 6 to 8 inches of water, a wading area runs approximately 14 to 18 inches deep, making it suitable for young children to stand and play in the water comfortably. It gives kids a dedicated shallow zone while adults use the main pool and spa, and the depth is enough to keep kids cool on a hot day without being a safety concern.
The wading area is molded into the shell just like every other feature, so there is nothing separate to install or maintain.
Because the Astoria 14 spa can be heated and used independently of the main pool, this is one of the few pool purchases where you get genuine year-round utility in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Pool season typically runs May through September in this region. The spa extends that to twelve months if you choose to keep it heated. The night lighting potential on this model is also worth noting. The combination of the lit spa and a lit main pool creates a visual impact after dark that a pool alone cannot match. LED lighting packages are available for both units.
The Astoria 14 is available in Latham's full Crystite color range across two finish families. Crystite Crystal adds a shimmer effect embedded under the gel coat surface. Crystite Classic is the traditional solid finish. Both are engineered to resist fading, staining, and UV damage well beyond standard gel coat.
