The signature design element of the Barcelona is its curved stair configuration, molded directly into the fiberglass shell at multiple points around the pool perimeter. This is not just a visual choice. Multiple entry and exit points mean more flexibility in how you position the pool relative to your patio, more accessibility for every age group, and a more natural social flow around the pool when people are in and out of the water throughout the day.
The curved geometry also softens what would otherwise be a strictly utilitarian rectangular outline, giving the Barcelona a more refined look without sacrificing the clean straight lines that make rectangular pools easy to build around.
Built-in bench seating is molded into the interior of the Barcelona, providing a comfortable partially-submerged seating zone along the pool perimeter. On a 16-foot wide pool the bench is generous and does not cut into the usable swim area in the center. It is the natural gathering spot for every pool party and the first place adults settle in at the end of the day.
The bench is part of the original fiberglass shell. No grout lines, no bolt-on hardware, no replacement cycle. It is there for the life of the pool.
The Barcelona includes a wading area running approximately 14 to 18 inches deep, which is meaningfully deeper than a standard tanning ledge. That extra depth makes it a proper play zone for young children who want full-body water contact rather than just sitting in a few inches of water. On a pool this size the wading area, swim-up seating, and main swimming pool create three distinct usable zones that serve different people simultaneously.
The wading area is molded into the shell and requires no extra maintenance or separate installation.
The Barcelona is engineered to accept an automatic safety cover from day one. On a 16-foot wide, 38-foot long pool, an auto cover is one of the most practical upgrades available at installation time. A single button opens or closes the cover completely. The pool is protected from debris, heat loss, evaporation, and chemical waste when not in use, and ready in seconds when you are.

The Barcelona is available in Latham's full Crystite color range across two finish families. Crystite Crystal adds a shimmer effect embedded under the gel coat surface. Crystite Classic is the traditional solid finish. Both resist fading, staining, and UV damage well beyond standard gel coat.
