The Monaco is the only pool in the Latham Classic Collection lineup that reaches 8 feet of depth. Every other rectangular model tops out between 5'4" and 7'. At 8 feet the Monaco puts you fully underwater with room to spare, which changes how the pool feels and how it can be used. At this depth the water has genuine thermal mass that moderates temperature swings. The visual depth of an 8-foot pool in certain colors is also noticeably different from shallower pools.
For homeowners who want the most pool Latham makes, the Monaco's depth is one of the defining reasons to choose it over the Barcelona, Kingston, or Corinthian 16.
Built-in bench seating is molded into the fiberglass shell of the Monaco and runs generously along the interior perimeter. On a 16-foot wide, 40-foot long pool the seating zone is proportioned to match the scale of the pool. It creates the natural gathering area for every pool session without cutting into the main swim space. On a pool this size that distinction matters more than on smaller models.
Part of the original shell from day one. No hardware, no grout, no maintenance requirement beyond the pool itself.
The Monaco is engineered for an automatic safety cover from day one. On a 16' x 40' pool at 8-foot depth the auto cover has an especially strong case: the pool retains an enormous amount of water at temperature, and an auto cover dramatically reduces the ongoing cost of keeping it that way. Opening and closing a cover across 40 feet with a single button is a practical daily reality on a pool this size. Adding it at installation is always cheaper and cleaner than retrofitting later.

The Monaco holds 21,000 gallons, which makes it the largest fiberglass rectangular pool in Casey's entire Latham catalog. On a pool this size the water temperature is genuinely stable, chemistry swings are gradual rather than abrupt, and the pool never feels like it is at capacity even during a large gathering. It is a pool that is designed to be used hard and often, not treated delicately.
At 16 feet wide and 40 feet long there is room for laps in the open water, conversation in the bench seating zone, and space for kids to play without anyone feeling crowded. The Monaco earns the space it takes up in your backyard.
The Monaco is available in Latham's full Crystite color range. A Sapphire Blue unit is on the lot in Belpre right now with no factory wait. All other colors are available to order. Ask Casey about current availability and lead times during your free consultation.
